Ipswich Town - Four Youngsters Feature in Pre-Season Friendly
Four Ipswich Town youngsters featured in the Blues' goalless draw against FC Cartagena as they wrapped up their pre-season training camp in La Manga. The players include Corbin Mthunzi, Steven Turner, Fin Barbrook, and Luca Fletcher.
Corbin Mthunzi
The 19-year-old centre-back was making his first appearance in the senior team and played the full 90 minutes in the game. He has since become a regular for John McGreal's U21s side, who impressed in their debut campaign in the Premier League 2 during 2025/26.
Fin Barbrook
The 21-year-old midfielder also played the full 90 minutes in the friendly, switching from centre-midfield to right-back in the second half. He was named the Blues' Academy Player of the Year for 2023/24 and featured for Kieran McKenna's side in multiple pre-seasons.
Steven Turner
The 20-year-old midfielder partnered Barbrook in the middle of the park, making his debut in the first-team. He was replaced by Marcelino Nunez on the hour mark.
Luca Fletcher
The 19-year-old forward replaced Chieo Ogbene on the left wing and made his first appearance for Town's senior team. He is versatile and joined the Blues on a permanent deal this summer, having spent last season on loan from Manchester City.
