Ipswich Town are just a month away from their first game of the season, and the transfer business is heating up. With a number of new signings already confirmed, the question on everyone's mind is: who will join the squad and who will leave?

Who's Coming in?

The Blues have already broken their club record to sign young Brazilian striker Emersonn, and have also added Cedric Kipre and Chuba Akpom permanently at the end of last season. They've also retained the services of Wes Burns. In the past week, Dutch 'keeper Kayne van Oevelen, winger Abdul Fatawu, and centre-back Issa Diop have all arrived, with versatile forward Daizen Maeda also being unveiled yesterday. With talks ongoing with 6ft 9ins goalkeeper Kjell Scherpen, things are really picking up pace.

Who's Leaving?

Incomings inevitably mean outgoings, and the Blues have already seen Conor Chaplin and Elkan Baggott depart, plus young keepers Cieran Slicker and Henry Gray go out on loan. But there's plenty more you could see departing this summer. Off the top of my head, the likes of Alex Palmer, Harry Clarke, Cameron Humphreys, Chiedozie Ogbene, Sammie Szmodics, Chuba Akpom, and Ali Al-Hamadi all feel like options to leave Suffolk, either permanently or on loan.

How Will O'Neil's Town Line-Up?

This is not a question we've had to worry about for a while. Under Kieran McKenna, we knew Town would line-up in a 4-2-3-1, play attractive, possession-based football and make attacking subs around the 70-minute mark. O'Neil's Blues however, are an unknown. At Strasbourg, his side had a lot of the ball - something he said he likes - largely kept it on the floor and set up in a 4-2-3-1 base. But in the Premier League, it seems unlikely Town can have success if they try to play that way, something O'Neil himself acknowledged in his first press conference.

Who Starts?

The answer to this question depends a lot on who joins the squad and who leaves. With proper friendly action under way, we should start to get a few answers - particularly when they face the likes of fellow top tier sides Osasuna (July 29th), Le Havre (August 4th), Rayo Vallecano (August 8th), and Union Berlin (August 15th).

As of now, Ipswich Town are 2nd in the Championship, with 84 points from 46 games last season, and a recent form of WDDWD. They have scored 80 goals and conceded 47, with a goal difference of +33. They are 11 points behind leaders Coventry in the title race.

The squad could well look very different come 3pm on August 22nd, with a number of players potentially leaving the club. But with just a month left before their first game, the transfer business is heating up, and we should start to get a few answers to these questions soon.
