Former Ipswich Town defender Titus Bramble has been appointed assistant manager of the Pakistan national team. The 45-year-old will work alongside head coach Nolberto Solano, a former Newcastle United teammate, with the side nicknamed the Falcons.
Bramble came through the youth ranks at Portman Road and featured for the Blues in the Premier League before spells at Newcastle, Wigan and Sunderland. He retired from playing in 2013 and spent several years coaching in Ipswich's academy, also doing charity work in Ghana and coaching in Dubai before this new international role.
"He retired from professional football in 2013, spending several years coaching in the Blues' academy," Bramble said of his post-playing journey. The Pakistan national team is currently ranked 198th in the world and is preparing for the inaugural FIFA ASEAN Cup, a new competition for Southeast Asian nations and guest teams.
The side was briefly suspended by FIFA in early 2025 over a constitutional dispute but was reinstated in March of that year after agreeing to adopt the governing bodies' approved version. Bramble's former club, Ipswich Town, are currently 11th in the Premier League with six points from five games. Their next match is at home to 19th-placed Fulham on 10 October, as they look to improve on a recent run of one win in their last five league outings.
